Porus Vazifdar | | Adil Writer, whose works are showcased on my website, is participating in the French Biennale, starting 29 August 2008. I am attaching his entry for all to see. Titled "Night and Day", it is made of mixed media, ceramic heads and beads, and acrylic on canvas.

Porus Vazifdar | | After a few years of collecting art, I had decided to catalogue and display as much of it as possible, for various reasons, viz to promote transperancy, encourage others to take the first step to collecting, simply to showcase various media, genres etc, all of which, I hope, will go someway in development of ‘art’ in India. Along the way came the thought that, now that I have this medium, this website, why not showcase works of artists. Thus was born the ‘showcase’ section on my website. I have just showcased the works of another young artist Moutushi Banerjee, who has this to say about her work: “Fables or story-telling, for me, is a liberating mode of image-making which allows me to bring together the real and the fantastical in an attempt to confront and contradict reality. In my world neither man nor animal gains supremacy in their constant battle with each other. I have just showcased the works of another artist Animesh Roy, who is inspired by the furious passion of Van Gogh, the adventure and grit in Papillon and Robert Louis Stevenson, Messner for being alone with the mountains, the total irreverence and bohemia of Henry Miller, rebellious youths in The Wild One, “What are you rebelling against? What’ve you got?”, the sublime serenity of Tagore and Ray, and courage and greatness of the Mahatma (Gandhi).
